“Patience is a virtue.” -Idk
“The best things come to those whom wait.” -Also idk
Hold up, is it ‘whom’ or just plain ‘who?’ Whatever, I’m just trying to be fancy.
The hardest thing for our generation to be is patient. Because of technology, we are so used to instant gratification. Things just happen. Quickly. Headlines are being created every second and we have access to almost anything and anyone in the world now. You want to talk to your friend in Australia? Call them. You want to share a picture from your vacation in Costa Rica? Post it on Instagram. You want a hooker sent to your house at 3 in the morning? Well that’s illegal and I highly recommend some soul-searching.
We see other people with success and we want for ourselves. Like soon. As in right now. There’s nothing wrong with that but that’s not realistic. It took Thomas Edison 1,000 failed attempts and many “wasted” years to make the lightbulb. You always hear about our parents or other adults saying they have been with the same company for 30 plus years and that has gotten them to where they are today. Thirty years is a long time. It’s almost 3 decades.
There is no such thing as an overnight success. You have to grind and put in the time. Even the “how bout dah” girl needed not 1, but 2 Dr. Phil episodes to get where she is today.
You know, I’m pretty sure it’s ‘whom.’
The hardest time is the beginning. Starting out. You may be doing working at a job because it barely pertains to where you wanna be. But once again, it’s a starting point. Enjoy it though, hopefully you’ll never have this much uncertainty ever again. You don’t get to just move to New York and write for SNL. You have to acquire an internship in New York first, maybe make a couple youtube videos, maybe write a couple blog posts for your friend’s Clothing / Lifestyle / Photography / Videography / Art / IdkWe’veEvolvedSoMuchICan’tEvenKeepTrackAnymore Company.
Don’t get frustrated. If you really want to be something or somewhere, you’ll get there. The best things in life: relationships, self progress, Stouffer’s lasagnas, they all take time.
Work hard. Be patient.
Actually, it’s just ‘who.’
